Putting a toe out there

Our friend Jessica Kowal's great new blog from the Kowal-Harden family's new location in Japan has inspired me to start posting events in our life for friends and family. Inevitably this will be "more than you needed to know", as the Americans say. Although we don't have the excuse of moving to a foreign country, I still find life in the US foreign enough, after 17 years of expatriation.
