Action-packed day today. We met the Mitchells for an outstandingly yummy brunch at a tofu factory, where the kids got to see how the featured food was made. Both kids loved the food: big steaming bowls of sweetened soy milk, scallion pancakes, delicately fried tofu with salt and pepper, rice noodles, chewy steamed buns. Eliot ADORED the garlic broccoli, declaring "This is the best broccoli in the whole wide world!".
Next eating adventure of the day was a stop-off for a coffee at Le Fournil where Eliot demolished everyone's little fruit tarts handed out in honor of their anniversary.
In the afternoon, Anselm and Blaise took off to meet Miles and a school friend for a tour of the waste water treatment plant. Everyone had a great time, from what I hear. Then a quiet couple of hours while Anselm and Blaise played chess (a new interest of Anselm's), and Eliot and I made a Tinkertoy sculpture and did some yard work.
And throughout, Eliot wore big girl undies! What a breakthrough.
