Monday saw a deep fall of snow-- seen here from my office window. The real drama of Anselm's Children's Theatre camp came in the pickup at 4, starting with Eliot's and my need to abandon the car and walk several blocks in driving wind and snow to pick him up due to complete traffic shutdown. We took refuge at REI instead of braving the traffic again immediately-- a mistake. By six, Siberian winds had frozen the streets over with an inch of slippery ice, closing Denny and making a nightmare of the long, long slippery drive back up the hill from downtown. We avoided a few near collisions and got restarted after a few stalls. On Tuesday nobody left the neighbourhood.. chance for a rare lunch date.
