Bondi icebergs

In the middle of our trip (reporting of this vacation is going to be haphazard) we spent a couple of days at Bondi Beach, close to where we used to spend our holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. It was cool with occasional fine, misty rain, perfect weather for the long walk along the beautiful rocky cliff-lined waterfront that links the Eastern Suburbs beaches. We did this 8km round trip walk twice in the two days. On our first evening, we stopped off at the Bondi Icebergs, the swim club where the famous Bondi surf lifesavers train, for a glass of champagne overlooking the beach and the salt-water rock swimming pool below. On our last morning I got up before everyone and took a swim there. Icebergs indeed-- I came home blue and shivering and needed two hot showers and a warm up in bed to recover.

I'll always remember Bondi as the beach that destroyed one of my cameras. The sand was so fine and the wind so windy. Beautiful beach, though.

(And, looking forward to trip updates, haphazard or not.)
