On our last day in Canberra, we went to an exhibition of works from the Musee d'Orsay that happened to be visiting the National Gallery. The kids enjoyed the paintings, Anselm especially, and Eliot was thrilled to recognize a few van Gogh paintings; and the ANG had set up a charming children's room inside the exhibition where they retired to do some puzzles and drawings. We left Eliot's self-portrait hanging on the wall of van Gogh's bedroom.

The most memorable part of the visit, though, was Sidney Nolan's Ned Kelly sequence, which captivated Anselm on our last visit and the two of them were fascinated to work through.
