In a galaxy far, far away

It seems that kinder and first grade is all about Star Wars. While kids might have shown up to orientation with a Spiderman t-shirt, that is so over by 1st: there is nothing less cool than superheroes. They are at best slightly embarrassing. Playdates are an endless stream of role-playing and lego building on the Star Wars theme; they are the only movies to watch. In retrospect I'm glad Anselm watched and enjoyed the Superman movies a couple of years ago when they were, apparently, age-appropriate.

Eliot, as a good little sister and ferocious to boot, is all into it. She stands watching Anselm play and demands to know who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. From tonight's bath: "Did Anakin's mother get her scratches in a galaxy far, far away?". She now calls her father "Darth Dad".
