"This is the best snack we've ever had."

So Zeirna was heard to remark after an initially dubious First Grade demolished every scrap of Anselm's requested classroom birthday treat: a plate of crostini-- toasted French bread with a scraping of raw garlic, chopped tomatoes, a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of sea salt. And strawberries on the side.

I enjoyed dropping in in the middle of the day. The school and the classroom are beautiful-- shining wooden floors, high ceilings, huge airy spaces with windows onto trees and sky and mountain views, and the walls decorated tastefully with the kids' work.
