When I told him he could keep reading for 15 minutes after we had read our chapter of The Two Towers, Anselm made rapid use of a phrase we had come across in the final scene of the evening:
"As he who flees counts every foe twice, he who reads counts every minute half!"
He and many of his classmates are deep into The Lightning Thief. Book of the year for second grade, it would seem. I think Sorija was the early adopter, last year. While I haven't read it yet, I have to, tomorrow-- I am leading a "boys' book club" discussion of it at our place on Sunday.
