This afternoon was the first of the season's taste of the joys of the alleys that run between the streets in our neighbourhood. When we dropped up to visit Dylan and Eva in the early evening, the kids joined them and several other neighbour families in riding bikes (Eliot grabbed and took her first ride on a tricycle) and shooting hoops. Spontaneous outdoor group play-- that's how we grew up, but these days: what a concept!
Somehow Anselm has developed love for and skills in basketball without any exposure that we were aware of-- he is really addicted to ballgames right now and could play indefinitely. Eliot was a joyous participant, along with the ferocious Eva. Those two are going to be a formidable pair.
