Social grace

I took Eliot swimming at family time at the Y today. As she got dressed again into a flowery blue dress, a lady passing through with a lacily attired ~6 year old told her, "Don't you look beautiful!". Eliot looked up at her, paused a moment holding her dress out, and gravely replied, "I think your daughter looks more beautiful."
