Eliot is starting to write quite fluently. This morning at breakfast she neatly wrote out "Eliot", MOM, DAD, and then started to experiment. MEN, DEN, PEN, "ren..", that's not a word, so she came up with RENT, "like, we rented a car!".Anselm's writing is also improving rapidly. His spelling is getting better and better, helped by the spelling lists that come home every two weeks. 10 basic words, like "would", "some", etc, and 10 challenge words, like ellipsis, celebration, performance, indigenous. He's also getting more comfortable to sit down and quickly write out 20 sentences using all the spelling words. He is laconic by nature, so this has needed time to evolve.
Here is a project he did with Blaise for his homework this weekend,
which was completely open.
