Sunday

Another wonderful day. A higher fraction of sun than had been the case in the last few days got us into the water for most of the morning. I did some snorkeling at the end of our beach, while Blaise, Anselm and Dad went out on the kayak. They saw a big turtle right up close out in the breakers. Then Blaise and I went for a long kayak trip down the length of the reef. Lots more turtle sightings, and some snorkeling and swimming off the boat.

This afternoon we made a little excursion to the interior to see a waterfall, with beautiful views of rainbows over the Wailua River and the cloudy peaks beyond. We also stopped to examine two hei'aus: almost entirely ruined temples. Only some stones and the incredible settings to weave some imagination around.
