(dinner with candles, and Stan contributed a "Baruch ata adonai" to round out the festivities). On the way there, we were talking about the evening to come. I suggested that Anselm ask Leela about her soccer experiences, to see whether it's something he might like to try next year. He said that he would, but cautioned that "I might not have the same sense of it. People are different." And went on to draw an analogy with two FedEx offices (that he spotted in passing) where one might be more interested, say, in a tree and the other, in a postbox. An overtired Eliot broke up the evening by staging a poo panic, which was strongly alleviated by the mention of dessert, and disappeared altogether once we were safely in the car on our way home. Anselm trained us badly as parents, as he never seemed to really need to eat, or sleep.
Bharathi took the beautiful picture.
