Anselm finally bothered to look in his candy bag after school yesterday. He was especially excited by a pencil, a candy bracelet that I know will never be eaten, and an apple. He figures he got enough candy to last "until next Halloween!", which is probably about right. His favorite of the actual candy: Tootsie Rolls, of which he was delighted to find he got FOUR. He wanted to choose one piece for dessert (a restriction I didn't actually place) and I asked him if he would have a Tootsie Roll-- "Oh no! I'm saving those til the very end!".
This is a boy who scores very highly on the marshmallow test. (Or else, secretly just doesn't really like candy).
