Happy days in the 'hood

Yesterday Blaise was still away on the tail end of a trip to the real Googleplex and the rest of us had a busy but peaceful day in the neighbourhood. After aikido and park time with Anne, Alex and aikido friends, we worked on the Japan box, built some lego, read more of the latest Adventure, then went for a walk to exchange movies. We saw that all the crocuses are flowering: spring is arriving! On the way back, we stopped off at the wine store for a burgundy tasting, then saw that one of our neighbours has constructed a collection of the regular solids for their front lawn. Cool.

Anselm is wearing new clothes from Mini Boden. Mornings had been grinding to a halt, and these clothes and their cheerful designs have made a big difference to dressing times.

The kids are lovely to one another. Anselm wanted to push Eliot in the stroller, and she would have no other. Knowing his predilection for them, she offered him a piece of her madeleine today (a precisely targeted offer: it was refused, e.g., to me). Turns out he doesn't care for that bakery's version and apologised repeatedly to her: "I'm sorry Eliot, thank you, but I'm really sorry, I don't want it."
