While I disapprove of the Valentine's craziness at school, we did have a good time with the making of the cards. They are nothing elaborate, constructed on my current theory of children's projects: keep it simple, and finish it. Anselm cut them out, wrote the names and punched the holes. He was so concerned with finishing it all in time that he appeared by the bed this morning, fully dressed and hurrying us downstairs so he could write the last few names. I was very proud of him, because at the outset he was almost fatally daunted by the task.

I'm delighted you're enjoying my blog as I am yours. I agree wholeheartedly with your remarks about Hilary Clinton. I love the fact that we have two good candidates at this stage of the game.
Your children are, not surprisingly, beautiful. My love to all.
