After school

I have been thrilled by the after-school activities offered at Anselm's school. He adores them and wants to take as many as he can. This quarter he took basketball, woodwork, soccer and art, and in the next round, he has signed up for engineering, "Exploring Tropical Reefs", story-book art and gymnastics. He's taken gymnastics a few times. He was disappointed that engineering conflicted with chess, as the two of those would have been his ideal combination. Stone Soup Theatre runs drama classes for the K-2 and 3-5 sets separately, but that didn't raise a great deal of enthusiasm. Other cool misses in this round: lantern-making, glass etching (only grades 3 and up) and yoga.
