La donna e mobile

When in DC, I went to see Lucrezia Borgia at the Kennedy Center, and it occurred to me when I came home to try out some opera during dinner-prep-with-youtube time. We played something very safe, Pavarotti singing La donna e mobile, and surprise, Eliot loved it. (Anselm, that day, clenched his hands over his ears.) When I came home the next day Eliot raced in saying "I want to hear some opera!". So we played, five times over, La donna e mobile, and even Anselm enjoyed it. Then I played them the heartbreaking Cortigiani, vil razza dannata.. which Eliot loved, but Anselm found too sad. Tonight in the bath, we went through the Italian of La donna and learnt a few of the words. The two of them were gripped. Fun.
