Disturbing trends in Britain
Hunting for a book at Borders at Heathrow turned up the fact that the Brits are currently obsessed with literature on child abuse. There were literally dozens of titles about child horror stories: "Tell me why, Mummy". "Don't tell Mummy", "No, Daddy", "Hidden", "Daddy's little girl", "Behind closed doors", "Unloved", all with photos of sad children, either just huge eyes under blond hair, or a small forlorn figure seen from a distance. I guess it has something to do with the success of Andrea Ashworth's memoir.
