Reading

I don't know what happened between yesterday and today-- maybe the writing experience, maybe an early night-- but tonight Anselm read the first page of his nightly Whale Adventure chapters with me (I sounded out for him the long and weird words, but he took at least 80% of words without balking) with a real jump forward in speed and accuracy, and a much reduced level of wriggling. Cool!

This is definitely the most anachronistic entry in the Adventure series so far, but it's great preparation for Moby-Dick (it is largely borrowed from it). And for the Japanese whaling discussions to come.
