Fears

Eliot is in a rather fearful stage. Anselm was very scared of bears at this age, so much so that his daycare class was forbidden (by him) from singing any songs about bears. Eliot's bete noir is the tiger. Before moving around the house, she always says "There are no tigers [e.g downstairs], no". Despite this, we let her watch The Jungle Book yesterday, pretty much her first movie. We read part of the book at Sophia's last week and she was fascinated and intrigued by the mother wolf looking after baby Mowgli, especially in the light of The Big Bad Wolf (due to whom she does not like to go into the forest), and has been discussing it all week. She was a bit frustrated by the inability to turn the page back and dwell on those critical scenes, at least when brothers are watching too. Something like her very vocal requests at Multicultural Night to sing "Hello! How are you!" a few more times.
