Another day, another dinner

Tonight I had on the table as Blaise walked in (this phenomenon is known as "little wife" in our house, though when Blaise pulls it off, it is not known as "little husband"): chili with white beans and green peppers (a collaborative effort begun this morning); brown rice; some delicious greens (flowering mustard, maybe?) from the farmers' market cooked with garlic and butter.

Blaise, whose Pollanic purism exceeds mine, does the farmers' market run on Sundays and has been exploring the weird wild green scene. They are easy to cook and really delicious.

I admit that there was another minor burning, but it happened on Jessy's watch. Anyway-- that's what happens when carbon comes into contact with heat.
