Eliot is getting more confident to draw her own pictures rather than asking me to sketch all her favorite Jungle Book characters, as was her habit for a while. She draws loops and spirals and lines and complex little shapes, and finds resemblances all over the place-- "I drew a seahorse! Look-- it's a nest for a penguin! This is a bucket; two buckets. This looks like Baloo.. this looks like Sher Khan.. this looks like Mowgli.. this one is Kaa!".

Eliot's drawing
Eliot is getting more confident to draw her own pictures rather than asking me to sketch all her favorite Jungle Book characters, as was her habit for a while. She draws loops and spirals and lines and complex little shapes, and finds resemblances all over the place-- "I drew a seahorse! Look-- it's a nest for a penguin! This is a bucket; two buckets.
