Peak oil

This is interesting: from the Sydney Morning Herald via Krugman's blog: percentage of income that will be spent on petrol for the wider metropolitan area of Sydney if prices continue to rise (don't know what that multiplier is..). Would be fascinating to see such a picture for various US regions. (Always good to be in a blue state over a red state.)
