Gombrich for the under nines

Anselm and I have started a wonderful book: "A short history of the world", by the more than wonderful E.H. Gombrich. Yesterday we covered Egypt (it really is short), closing with the reign of Akhenaton. We have big plans for hunting obelisks in Central Park and visiting mummies at the Met. Tonight we read about the Sumerians and the reason we have seven days in the week.
