OK: now let's hear from you. Does this dancer spin clockwise or counterclockwise for you?
For me, she is clockwise. I can force her to spin the other way if I concentrate, but only for a short while.
So much for my career in math and science :-(.
But before I quit and become an astrologist (no offence to the right brainers! I like the future too!), here's some commentary, comfortingly containing the word "myth" (which we have all already suspected-- especially since all of my group, no slouches in math and science, saw clockwise).
I wonder if it wouldn't have been possible to produce an effective "test" with an image that is not a naked female body. (Hello all the new googlers who just found this site). Maybe the concentration required to spin in reverse would be that much harder to muster.
