Thanks to Whole Foods for help in a fast meal of a caprese (one of Anselm's favourites) and pumpkin ravioli, with a butter, cream, garlic and sage sauce (OK, the sauce was just for me).
We finished Danny, The Champion of the World tonight. What a great book: I strongly recommend it. Danny's mother died when he was a baby, leaving him alone with his father. The two of them live in a caravan by their filling station in the countryside. Danny's father is extraordinary, as becomes Danny.
It closes with a note to children telling them when they grow up, not to be stodgy parents. Puts the reading parent in something of a spot: are we adequate? Anselm assures me that we're fine.
He's so kind.
